We are pleased to announce that we are now offering the full lineup of Taiwan’s Tri-Up Coffee through PHILOCOFFEA. These beans are characterized by a viscous texture, and while their flavor is, of course, outstanding, we are releasing them because we wanted to share this uniquely thick, syrupy mouthfeel—unlike typical Ethiopian coffees—with everyone.
In addition to the flavor, we’ve applied a roast style characteristic of ou.bai.tou.ri that focuses on texture, bringing out the true essence of Wene.
“Wene” is the name of a specific monkey discovered on this farm, and the farm was named after it. Operated by Aji, a young and passionate farmer in Ethiopia’s Sidama region, the Wene Farm may not have a long history, but we strongly believe this farm is special and holds great potential.
The farm is covered in black soil, a type rarely encountered in our sourcing experience in Ethiopia. Furthermore, because the farm is surrounded by mountains and rivers, it fosters richer biodiversity and stimulates microbial activity within the farm.

We consider coffee from Wene to be more robust and viscous compared to other regions in Ethiopia. We are convinced that the black soil is a major factor behind this characteristic. We believe that coffee from Wene has the potential to become one of the finest in the country in a few years.
